
First-Time Homebuyers in Litchfield County
To be considered a “first-time homebuyer” and eligible for our program, you should not have owned a home at any time over the last 3 years. You must also be income-eligible and plan on purchasing in HDF’s service area – please check our Service Map for details.
HOW TO APPLY – FOR LITCHFIELD RESIDENTS
1) Complete the pre-application for HDF services:

2) Collect copies of ALL the required documents listed on the cover page of the application.
3) If you are unable to attend an orientation at any of our offices (Danbury, Stamford, or Bridgeport) due to distance, please mail your completed application and copies of all required items to the following address:

For time-sensitive situations, you may fax your application and documents to (203) 798-2142. Please call MaryAlice Dinho at (203) 798-6527 before faxing.
4) You will receive a phone call or e-mail acknowledging receipt of your application and documents.
5) Please give our office 10 business days to assess your file upon receipt of your completed application. A counselor will be in touch with you regarding the next steps of the process, including our distance counseling via video conference. Clients who don’t have access to a webcam may go to the Foundation for Community Health (155 Sharon Valley Road, Sharon, CT) to use the Foundation’s computer and webcam for their video conference appointments with our HDF counselors.
