The Stamford-based Housing Development Fund, a nonprofit bank that provides funding for affordable housing and homebuyer assistance programs, has named Deborah MacKenzie as program manager for its Danbury Housing Resource Center.

In her new position, MacKenzie will divide her time between overseeing the delivery of HDF homebuyer assistance services, including counseling, and implementing community outreach in the Greater Danbury area. She will assist the organization in its initiative to help more households in the region into homeownership.

Of the 151 homebuyers HDF helped to purchase homes in the 2006-2007 fiscal year, 45 households were located in Greater Danbury. The goal for 2007-2008 is to help 65 households in Greater Danbury.
