E. Strauss To New Post --Knowledge Development Officer
Non-Profit Bank Fosters Culture of Knowledge to Support
Effective New Solutions to Providing Affordable Housing in
Connecticut
STAMFORD,
Conn., May 30, 2007- Housing Development Fund (HDF), a unique
nonprofit bank providing funding for affordable housing and
an array of homebuyer assistance programs, has promoted Tami
E. Strauss to the newly-created position of Knowledge Development
Officer. The position was created to foster HDF’s culture
of knowledge and its ability to deliver an ever higher level
of service to its clients and the public.
In her new role, Strauss is developing systems for data collection,
analysis and distribution that will contribute to the general
pool of knowledge about affordable housing solutions. Her
work will provide a foundation for the most effective ongoing
program development. She will also continue to manage grant
writing, marketing communications and the HDF client database,
functions that she oversaw in her previous responsibilities.
Strauss joined HDF in 2005 as Portfolio Analyst.

Throughout her career, Strauss has analyzed various real
estate markets and their demographic, geographic and competitive
trends, including research and analyses of all major property
types nationwide. Prior to joining HDF, Strauss served as
Associate Vice President for Rockwood Realty Associates in
New York City, as Research Manager for Finard & Company,
LLC in Burlington, Mass., and as Market Research Analyst/GIS
Manager for CareMatrix Corporation in Needham, Mass.

Strauss earned a bachelor of arts degree from the State University
of New York in Albany, New York, and a Master of Urban Planning
degree from the R.F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service
at New York University, New York City. She has served on
the faculty of Westchester County Community College in Valhalla,
New York. Strauss and her husband reside in Norwalk, Connecticut.

to serve all of southwestern Connecticut from its headquarters
in Stamford and a Danbury office opened in 2004. HDF offers
a variety of homebuyer programs, including its First Time
Homebuyers Program, SmartMove low interest second mortgage
program, CHFA (Connecticut Housing Finance Authority) approved
Homebuyer Education Classes Program and Below Market Rate
Program (BMR). HDF is a HUD-certified lender and Housing
Counseling agency.
HDF provides homebuyers with homebuyer finance, counseling
and assistance programs. It also offers low-interest, flexible
financing and technical assistance to developers and municipalities,

funds for these affordable housing initiatives. It has the
largest public/private pool of mortgage financing for affordable
housing in Connecticut – both homeownership and multi-family
